Join your PR colleagues and practitioners for an invigorating brainstorming session on behalf of two worthy causes!
The Arkansas Chapter of PRSA is honored to host this year’s NonPRofit Roundtable on Nov. 16 at 11:30 a.m. As in years past, the application process was difficult, but we have selectedARVets, Inc. and Senior Citizens Activities Today, Inc. to participate in the 2012 NonPRofit Roundtable. These organizations are very excited to meet our members and start generating great ideas for their causes.
Below is a brief description of each nonprofit and a link to their website, so please take a few minutes prior to the meeting to learn more about each organization and start formulating questions, comments and, most importantly, those fantastic PR ideas. We won’t have more than an hour, so we want everyone to study and prepare as much as possible!
Also, please be aware that we have extended the time of our November meeting. We’re asking that all members be at the Little Rock Club by 11:30 a.m. to begin going through the buffet. That way, we’ll all be seated and ready to start brainstorming by the noon hour. Thank you in advance!
About ARVets, Inc.
ARVets is a non-profit organization with a strong commitment to serve veterans and their families here in Arkansas. Their mission is to enhance the overall quality of life for military personnel, veterans, and their families by improving access to resources and strengthening support systems through all phases of the military life cycle. For more information, please visit www.ARVets.org.
About Senior Citizens Activities Today, Inc.
Senior Citizens Activities Today, Inc., (SCAT), a United Way Agency nonprofit, has been an integral part of the Little Rock community for over 50 years. The nonprofit organization fosters the physical and mental well-being of seniors and disabled citizens by providing health, wellness, social and recreational programming, transportation services and information and referral assistance.
The majority of the over 500 individuals served by SCAT reside in three high-rises which are run by the Metropolitan Housing Alliance. Limited services are provided to a fourth high-rise and medical transportation reaches North Little Rock and Maumelle. Community centers established by SCAT in each high-rise offer multiple opportunities for companionship while pursuing new or former interests. Additionally, SCAT works to inspire the community at large to create appropriate services for meeting social, economic and health needs of the population it serves. Collaboration with organizations such as CareLink, the Junior League of Little Rock and Camp Aldersgate has been key to their success. For more information, please visit www.owlseniors.org.
