Arkansas Medical Society

POSITION SUMMARY              

To direct and manage the activities related to membership recruitment and retention for the Society, including but not limited to working with other AMS staff to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the related administrative processes such as dues billing, membership renewal, and data management.

To develop and direct effective communication strategies that will reach and engage physicians, medical office staff, the public, and specialty societies managed by the AMS.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement targeted, data-driven strategies to achieve membership growth and drive member engagement for the association.  This includes working closely with AMS executive staff to develop an understanding of member needs, current legislation, and the changing health care environment.

Develop and/or coordinate marketing campaigns for the Society’s ongoing projects, including but not limited to specialty society management, educational conferences, webinars, etc.

Work with EVP and executive staff to oversee the Society’s publications including the Journal of the Arkansas Medical Society and the AMS NewsBriefs.   Manage the association’s social media accounts and website including the development of content and use of social media to achieve the Society’s goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.  Three years of association or related experience is preferred.  Candidate should be proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud programs and have experience managing public social media accounts. A working knowledge of graphic design and website development is preferred. The candidate must be self-motivated, a team player, and a problem solver as this position impacts and draws from every area department of the association. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent oral/written communications skills for extensive interactions with physicians, health care professionals, and the public. Strong organizational skills are essential to monitor multiple projects simultaneously to ensure that deliverables meet content, quality and time standards. Some travel may be required.
