Information Security and Privacy Attorney Mandy Stanton
February Virtual Meeting
February 19, 2020
12:00 p.m. – 1 p.m.
The Communicator’s Guide to Vital Privacy Knowledge
Find the right audience. Learn their habits and preferences. Send them targeted communications through the most effective channels – email, mobile, social media, website, etc. These are the essentials of digital age communication (especially during a pandemic) – and some of the most heavily regulated activities under the ever-growing ranks of data privacy laws.
Privacy, compliance and communications are constantly bumping against each other, yet most communications professionals aren’t traditionally part of the privacy discussions within their organizations. Information Security and Privacy Attorney Mandy Stanton will discuss the security, privacy and ethical controls communicators should have in place to protect personal information, reduce their companies’ risk exposures and maintain brand trust. She will also review the major privacy laws and provide guidance on how communicators can be compliant. Following the program, attendees will receive IAPP’s Privacy Knowledge Map that communicators can use to assess individual and team privacy knowledge, skill sets and identify privacy training needs.
Stanton is an information security and privacy attorney at Mitchell Williams Law Firm and earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She combines her years of experience as in-house counsel for an international information technology and data marketing firm with her expertise in state and federal information privacy and data security requirements to help clients evaluate and manage information security and privacy matters.
