“Talk the Talk: Building the Emotional Fortitude to Lead Conversations on Race, Bias and Equity”
Denise W. Barreto
With a combination of thought provoking prepared content, group discussion and interactivity, entrepreneur, TEDx speaker and public servant Denise W. Barreto will ignite Arkansas PR leaders to action wherever they are on their own inclusive leadership journey. Our workshop will set in motion a challenge to AR PR leaders to own an individual and organizational role in driving equity in their spheres of influence. From a quick historical context discussion why we need both the data (head) and stories (heart) to drive equitable outcomes in our work to a reflective exercise on owing our privilege in the broadest sense, participants will leave the session motivated with practical steps to move themselves to be more inclusive leaders day-today. Barreto is a highly sought after teacher whose down to earth style and commitment to interactive discourse makes her learning sessions come to life for listeners and she sends them away with tangible tips and personal challenges to drive home the content they hear. As a former elected official and current strategic business partner for nonprofits, government and corporate entities, she is a leading American voice on 21st Century leadership.
