Committee Descriptions

As a member of Arkansas PRSA, you have several ways to get involved with the chapter while polishing your communication, event planning, networking and other career-building skills. Email chapter president Mary Claire Imbro, APR to get plugged in.

Accreditation

The Accreditation Committee works with the assembly delegate/director-at-large to support members interested in pursuing their APR. This committee is open to Accredited members only.

ARcom Awards

The ARcom Awards Committee assists the director-at-large with the planning and execution of Arkansas PRSA’s annual ARcom Awards. Organized in collaboration with Arkansas IABC, the ARcom Awards recognize exceptional public relations programs and skills of the state’s practitioners, companies and organizations.

Communications

The Communications Committee supports Arkansas PRSA’s vice president with managing chapter communications, including the monthly newsletter and other email communication, social media, and the website.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee of Arkansas PRSA provides resources and industry-growth opportunities to its members of diverse backgrounds and identities – including racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds; sexual orientations and gender expressions; ages and professional experiences; abilities and disabilities; and other underrepresented communities and forms of diversity – to foster a more inclusive public relations profession.

Finance and Sponsorship Committee

The Finance and Sponsorship Committee of Arkansas PRSA works with the treasurer to provide recommendations related to the chapter’s finances, including saving and investment strategies, sponsorship revenue, and an annual budget review.

Hospitality

The Hospitality Committee of Arkansas PRSA assists the chapter secretary with greeting members and guests at monthly meetings and creating additional opportunities to ensure our chapter is welcoming to current and prospective members.

Membership

The Membership Committee works with the director-at-large to recruit members to Arkansas PRSA and retain existing members through various communication and outreach strategies.

New Pros

The New Pros Committee fosters networking and learning opportunities among professionals in Arkansas PRSA who have worked in public relations and communications for less than six years.

Programming

The Programming Committee supports the president-elect of Arkansas PRSA with programming for monthly meetings and professional development events.
